Today on the Wasted Ammo podcast we talk all about our experience and lessons learned from our bug out simulation. The original plan was to hike the full 33-mile route from Steve's house to the bug out location but we were advised against this by the community (rightfully so) so we split the simulation in half for our first go. We ended up rucking for about 17 miles and while it was hard, it was also done in ideal conditions - no family, no threats, no extra weight from tactical gear and the weather was perfect at 74 degrees and sunny. After this experience, we definitely have a greater appreciation for just how much bugging-out would suck in an SHTF scenario and hopefully this knowledge helps us make the right choice if the time comes. Enjoy!
