Today on the Wasted Ammo Podcast we get into the Las Vegas Shooting that left 59 dead and over 500 injured in the largest mass shooting in US history. This occurred early this week and besides sharing news links we have remained pretty quiet on the subject. As with all major events, the facts and details immediately after are usually wrong so we wanted to let the dust settle and come to the mic with as much reliable information as possible. While this is a show on the shooting it's not going to cover the details too much, instead, we will focus on the potential aftermath, the political knee-jerk reactions, and how we feel the 2A stands up in the light of this horrible tragedy. Enjoy.

Today's Zeroed-In episode is coming to you on a Saturday and there is a good reason for that because it has been predicted that today starts the beginning of the end! A Christian Numerologist says that the beginning of the end of the world starts today and while he doesn't go into much detail, we thought we better get this episode out early just in case. In this episode, we also cover a 25-foot statue of Mikhail Kalashnikov, a 40 caliber 1911 - blasphemy! - and we wrap up this episode asking the question, "should training be a requirement to carry a firearm?". Enjoy!

Today we have Josh Courtney from Black Diamond Holsters and Opie from Opie In The Smokies on the show to talk about guns and to dive into their businesses. While Josh makes custom Kydex holsters and Opie makes limited edition patches, seemingly very different businesses, they work together to help promote each other's business and to help each other grow. These two dudes remind us of ourselves, two guys who love firearms and are trying to turn a "hobby" into a sustainable business. While we talk about their businesses, we mostly talk guns and training so there are a lot of good tidbits to dig out of this one so enjoy!

Today on the Wasted Ammo Podcast we continue our recent string of survivalism based topics by covering an article that claims 70-90% of the population would be dead within 3 months after an EMP attack. EMP or electromagnetic pulse is one way in which a terrorist group could effectively deliver a deadly blow to the United States since all our major infrastructure is dependent on electricity for it to work. Why is an EMP so deadly? Why are people unprepared for a world without electricity? What can we expect to happen if we are hit with an EMP? Let's find out!

Today on the Wasted Ammo podcast we talk all about our experience and lessons learned from our bug out simulation. The original plan was to hike the full 33-mile route from Steve's house to the bug out location but we were advised against this by the community (rightfully so) so we split the simulation in half for our first go.  We ended up rucking for about 17 miles and while it was hard, it was also done in ideal conditions - no family, no threats, no extra weight from tactical gear and the weather was perfect at 74 degrees and sunny. After this experience, we definitely have a greater appreciation for just how much bugging-out would suck in an SHTF scenario and hopefully this knowledge helps us make the right choice if the time comes.  Enjoy!

Monday is Memorial Day and what better way to honor our fallen soldiers than to share a speech of service, sacrifice, and God from a better man than us - Lt.Gen. (Ret.) W.G. Boykin. Boykin was one of the elite warriors chosen in 1978 to make up the first unit in America's ultra-secretive and deadly Delta Force. He then became commander of the unit, and later still, commander of all U.S. Army Special Forces. His thirty-six years in the military included a tour at the Central Intelligence Agency and clandestine missions around the world. Jerry retired in 2007, serving his last four years as the deputy undersecretary of defense for intelligence. Enjoy!

Today on the Wasted Ammo Podcast we Zero-In on the Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms Illinois FFL carve-out fiasco. Last week, the Illinois State Senate passed bill SB-1657 by a one-vote margin. While the bill will now move on to the House, if signed by Governor the new law will mandate state licensing for all Illinois gun dealers. The lobbyist for the Illinois Firearms Manufacturers Association (IFMA), Jay Keller, traded that group’s opposition to the bill in exchange for a carve-out, removing large firearm manufacturers from the licensing requirements. Now the question is, just how much did Springfield and Rock River know? Either way, this move was a huge FU to the 2A, the gun community, and liberty as a whole.  We shall see what happens next and if these companies can save face and regain the trust of gun owners as they move forward. Enjoy!

Since this might possibly be an over-night hike, we have to beef up our bags with some high-quality food to properly fuel us for this trip.
